Our Institute provides treatment across the lifespan for OCD and related conditions. We offer ICBT as well as ERP and integrated metacognitive approaches, as well as SPACE and family therapy matched to the patient. We offer some group therapies and some in vivo work, teletherapy and in person. We also provide training in small consultation groups for licensed therapists, as well as yearlong internships and mentorships. All patients undergo a brief free screening phone call.
We have specialists in co-occurring substance use, trauma, dissociative disorders, depression, chronic illness, ADHD, family therapy and specific populations including physicians, musicians and athletes.
Four decades specializing in anxiety disorders and OCD. Founded the Anxiety Disorders Clinic at Sheppard Pratt in 1978 and the Anxiety and Stress Disorders Institute of Maryland in 1992, which now has over 30 clinicians and trainees. Co-wrote four books with Dr Martin Seif, including best seller “Overcoming Unwanted Intrusive Thoughts ” and “Needing to Know for Sure” which have been translated into more than a dozen languages.
The Anxiety and Stress Disorders Institute provides a safe space for people of all backgrounds, orientations and identities. We have on staff specialists in LGBTQIA+ issues as well as a specialist in international student populations.
