Carrie A. Torres MS, LPC
83% of my clients have OCD. My clients have a variety of OCD subtypes (harm, sexual, just right, relationship, contamination, health, scrupulosity/moral, responsibility, emetophobia, etc.) many of which overlap.
The best part of being a therapist is that I get to go on a journey with my clients and see them rebuild self-trust and resilience. It’s like watching a flower blossom.
Many of my clients have co-occurring disorders like depression and anxiety (PTSD, panic, social, phobias, generalized). Often by treating one disorder, others naturally diminish. After a thorough intake, we’ll collaborate on your goals and decide how best to move forward.
I am trained in treating OCD using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), and inference-cognitive behavioral therapy (I-CBT) and have attended extensive workshops in these areas. I have worked in college counseling and own a small private practice, Inside Out Counseling, LLC.
In addition to therapy, I consult therapists on ERP for OCD.
I am neurodiverse and LGBTQ+ affirming and have experience working with these populations. I started the first transgender group at the Milwaukee School of Engineering. I speak Spanish and have lived in Spain, Costa Rica, and Chile.
