Tamara J. Sussman PhD
Roughly half of my practice is focused on treating OCD. I have chosen to focus on treating OCD because I find that the evidence-based treatments are very effective and I feel confident that I can help people get better. I am happy to have a free consultations, typically about 15 minutes, with anyone who would like to learn more about my approach to treatment, or would simply like meet to see if working together would be a good fit.
I have been treating OCD for over a dozen years, throughout my training, as well as in my private practice. I received my PhD from Stony Brook University, where training is grounded firmly in evidence-based therapies including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I completed my internship at Rutgers University, and am licensed in New York State. I am an Assistant Professor at Columbia University, and a Research Scientist at the New York State Psychiatric Institute, where I do research in the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
