Susanna Crowell McQuarrie PhD
I specialize in the treatment of anxiety and related disorders, including OCD.
I am a licensed psychologist with a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. I completed my undergraduate degree at Vanderbilt University and doctoral degree at Georgia State University. I completed my predoctoral psychology internship at the University of California at Davis Child and Adolescent Abuse and Resource and Evaluation (CAARE) Center where I was certified in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT).
I began my training in the treatment of OCD in graduate school at Georgia State University in 2013. Since, I have continued my training in evidence based treatments for OCD and anxiety related disorders through externships, internship, postdoc and professional consultation groups.
Therapy is a highly individualized experience, tailored to meet your (or your child’s) specific needs. There are therapeutic strategies that have been well-researched and shown to be effective at reducing or alleviating symptoms. My approach to therapy is to use evidence-based strategies to manage and reduce mental health symptoms through a compassionate and collaborative approach. I will collaborate with you to work within your cultural and family values to ensure that suggested strategies fit within what is important to you as a person.
Providing the most ethical and effective treatment to clients is my main priority and cultural competency is the foundation for this. I strive to continue to grow in my cultural humility and competence through continuing education and consultation.
