Lauren Spencer MS, LMFT
I offer both individual counseling for OCD as well as all anxiety disorders (social anxiety, panic, phobias, and GAD). About 60% of my practice is dedicated to the treatment of OCD and anxiety disorder. I also am passionate about providing support for family members of those who have OCD and have both an online support group for family members as well as an online, on-demand course on family accommodation. The other 40% of my other counseling work is treating couples, which does at times overlap with my OCD work.
Trained in Acceptance-Commitment Therapy for Anxiety disorders
Trained in Inference-Based CBT for OCD
Trained in Exposure-Response Prevention by BTTI certified therapist
Extensive background in how the family system is impacted by OCD and other relational concerns.
Providing compassionate, informed care that values the unique differences of every individual is an integral aspect of my practice.
My graduate program as a whole highlighted the importance of cultural competency and humility. During my graduate practicum, I was privileged to work with those from diverse financial as well as cultural backgrounds. This experience instilled the value of striving to make my therapy services more affordable through maintaining lower than average rates and offering low-fee support groups.
