Alicia Slavis PsyD
My background and experience for the past 18 years has been treating anxiety disorders and OCD and OC-spectrum disorders. I use strategies that have been proven to be effective and that are supported by research, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and exposure and response prevention (ERP). I strive to provide a warm, supportive, and empathic environment to help clients learn skills to overcome challenges. When working with children and teens, I also work with parents and believe that this collaboration is an important part of the process.
I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in Connecticut and New York. I received my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Baylor University. As part of my training, I attended a clinical internship at the St. Louis Psychology Internship Consortium, which provided training in evidence-based treatments. I then completed a two-year, postdoctoral residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital- White Plains, where I received training focused on treating children and adolescents. I spent the first part of my career working at a clinic that specialized in treating OCD and OC-spectrum disorders and have continued to receive training and consultation for these conditions.
