I founded and direct a group practice called EMERGE that specializes in providing high-quality psychological services specifically for teens, young adults and families. However, we also see children and adults. We utilize a diverse range of therapeutic strategies including CBT and ERP, but emphasize a relational, youth-friendly and family-centered approach. Although we are not exclusively focused on anxiety, approximately 30% of our clients present with OCD/OC related disorders. In addition to individual therapy, we utilize family and group therapy extensively to address issues from different perspectives.
We treat co-occurring disorders within the context of the whole person and utilize a variety of approaches to address different issues such as ASD, substance use, mood disorders, ADHD and others.
I have been a therapist for over 30 years and have attended both the BTTI and consult groups with IOCDF. In addition, my team and I attend trainings and consult on a regular basis with OCD experts and other professionals.
I have a long history of work with multicultural populations, as well as extensive training and education on issues of social justice. As an organization, we embrace the inherent value of diversity, equity and inclusion and incorporate this throughout our practice. As a result, we welcome and appreciate all orientations, genders, colors, sizes, abilities, religions, cultures, family configurations and political beliefs. Committed to being neuro-affirming, LGBTQ+ inclusive, and equity-driven, we aspire to create a world where young people are offered the resources they need to become healthy, happy and resilient.
I am a Certified Group Psychotherapist (CGP) and lead and/or supervise over a dozen therapy groups for children, adolescents and adults. These groups are based on an interpersonal framework, but can be helpful for many different types of issues including OCD.
