Sarah Segal LCSW
About 80% of my clients are currently being treated for anxiety/OCD. I utilize an integrative framework, and use evidence-based treatment strategies (I-CBT, ERP, ACT, meta-cognitive approaches) to help my clients free themselves from OCD and learn to cope with anxiety in ways that allow them to live fully in their lives.
Depression, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Social Anxiety, trauma symptoms and Panic Disorder often occur alongside OCD and are addressed and treated as needed.
OCD and anxiety disorders are my specialty. I offer my clients choice and agency in choosing a treatment approach and am excited we are at a point in our understanding of OCD to offer multiple treatment options. I have been providing OCD treatment to adults and college aged individuals in private practice, medical and college counseling settings for the past 10 years. I collaborate and consult with OCD and anxiety senior therapists for both I-CBT and ERP treatments on a regular basis, attend ongoing trainings and workshops and completed the BTTI training in October 2021.
I have had the privilege to work with clients with diverse gender, sexuality, socioeconomic, racial and cultural identities. I strive to be anti-racist and LGBTQ+ affirming in my approach as a therapist. I work with clients to identify and validate one’s identities and systemic intersections to facilitate empowerment. I tailor the therapy to facilitate empowerment through our work together as we identify, clarify and validate individual needs. I have previously worked in college counseling, community mental health clinics in Los Angeles and in hospital settings (LAC+USC and UCLA) providing individual, group and family therapy.
