Steven J. Seay PhD
Clinical Director, Center for Psychological and Behavioral Science
Dr. Seay provides evidence-based cognitive behavioral therapy (including ERP and HRT) to children, adolescents, and adults with severe anxiety disorders and is the Director of the Center for Psychological and Behavioral Science. Greater than 90% of Dr. Seay’s outpatient practice focuses on OCD, anxiety, and OCD spectrum disorders. In addition to office visits, Dr. Seay often works with individuals in their own natural environments (e.g., home, work, school) as he finds that this helps treatment gains to generalize more quickly to real life situations. You can find more information about Dr. Seay’s practice at www.psychologyandbehavior.com.
Dr. Seay earned dual doctoral degrees in Clinical Science and Neuroscience from Indiana University and completed his predoctoral internship at the Indiana University School of Medicine. He then was a postdoctoral resident at the Anxiety Disorders Center of Saint Louis Behavioral Medicine Institute. At SLBMI, he provided outpatient and intensive outpatient treatment to children, adolescents, and adults with anxiety and OC spectrum disorders. Dr. Seay’s research has emphasized the role of basic decision making processes in OC symptomatology and also has looked at the ways in which basic learning processes contribute to the development and maintenance of OCD.
