Narrative of Services:

The primary focus of my practice is on relieving the stress caused by anxiety, including the depression that often results from restrictions on life due to anxiety. I believe in working with my clients to design a treatment plan that goes at your pace, but is grounded in evidence-based strategies. For OCD, that means Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), in addition to mindfulness and values-based strategies from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I work with adults over age 21. I also offer coaching for parents of children with anxiety and OCD.

Training Description:

I earned my MA in Counseling from Northwestern University. I have been fortunate to learn ERP under the guidance of expert clinicians at the Rochester Center for Anxiety Treatment (Katarina Asbury, LMHC) and Genesee Valley Psychology (Lauren Wadsworth, PhD). I have worked with individuals experiencing anxiety, OCD, perfectionism and the effects of trauma for 5+ years. In addition, my experience as an art teacher for 20+ years taught me how to address anxiety experienced by my students and to help them push through their fears.

Diversity Statement:

I am committed to the exercise of cultural humility in counseling, with the knowledge that it is my responsibility to continually expand my understanding of how individuals with marginalized identities are impacted by the politics of race, class, gender, and sexuality.
