Juliana Negreiros PhD, R. Psych.
Dr. Negreiros received her Ph.D. in School Psychology from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. For many years, Dr. Negreiros conducted studies on cognitive and academic functioning and treatment outcomes in pediatric OCD at the Provincial OCD Program (POP). She published several papers in peer-reviewed journals and is the recipient of awards from diverse psychological organizations. Dr. Negreiros has completed a 3-year Postdoctoral Fellowship at POP. She is a BTTI graduate who has assessed and treated more than a hundred youth with OCD and related disorders ranging from ages 5 to 24 years.
Dr. Juliana Negreiros is a registered psychologist and researcher with extensive experience working with children, youth, and young adults with OCD and related disorders. She has been involved with the B.C. Children’s Hospital Provincial OCD Program since 2012. Dr. Negreiros provides individual and family CBT for OCD at her private practice Beacon Psychology in Port Moody. She also uses ACT techniques to treat OCD. She is a trainer and consultant for mental health clinicians and schools and supervises doctoral practicum students in her practice. Dr. Negreiros collaborates with Anxiety Canada by creating OCD and anxiety resources accessible to all.
Dr. Negreiros was born in Brazil and moved to Canada to complete her graduate studies. She conducts therapy in both English and Portuguese. Despite living in Canada, Dr. Negreiros is engaged with the Brazilian scientific community, where she has been co-authoring book chapters on OCD in Portuguese. In addition, Dr. Negreiros has recently co-authored a book called Getting Comfortable with Uncertainty for Teens: 10 Tips to Overcome Anxiety, Fear, and Worry. This self-help book provides strategies for teens from diverse, multicultural backgrounds on how to manage OCD and anxiety.
