Nancy Miller PsyD
I specialize in treating all forms of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) using exposure and response prevention. I provide individual psychotherapy to clients and work primarily from the cognitive-behavioral orientation. I have extensive experience in the treatment of OCD, Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder (OCPD), Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Social Phobia, and Panic Disorder. Other important issues I address in therapy include depression, relationship difficulties, work stress, job dissatisfaction, personality issues, and general well being improvement, such as helping people to improve their sleep, diet, and exercise. I frequently use mindfulness and acceptance based approaches to improve treatment success.
I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist practicing in NYC. After completing my internship at the APA approved Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center in Northport, NY, I earned my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The Florida Institute of Technology, School of Psychology. While working towards my licensure, I received supervision from the director of The Center for CBT, an expert in treating Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). I have successfully used exposure and response prevention (ERP) to treat clients since 2003. I’ve completed several training workshop on using ERP to treat OCD and on using mindfulness based approaches to treat anxiety disorders.
