Narrative of Services:
I opened Anxiety and Behavioral Health Services, a private practice, with a partner in 2003. I have specialized in treating anxiety since that time. My clientele are primarily those suffering from OCD (currently approximately 50% of my clientele), panic attacks, phobias, generalized anxiety, social anxiety, and occasionally specific forms of PTSD. I conduct exposure therapy and incorporate elements of acceptance and commitment therapy, including mindfulness strategies, in my work. I frequently treat depression accompanying primary anxiety as well.
Facilities accessible by clients of all mobility levels: Yes
Training Description:
I completed my doctorate in clinical psychology from The Ohio State University (OSU) in 1999, and subsequently completed postdoctoral clinical training in CBT for anxiety conditions at the Anxiety and Stress Disorders Clinic at OSU. I am an IOCDF BTTI graduate (2014) as well. In 2015 I obtained board certification in Behavioral and Cognitive Psychology from the American Board of Professional Psychology.
Diversity Statement:
I am LGBTQ friendly. I have worked with clients from a number of different religious backgrounds and make effort to accommodate (and not transgress) religious beliefs in the treatment approach. Religious and sexual/gender dimensions have been the greatest sources of diversity in my practice.
I have completed continuing education periodically that includes cultural competency, which is often incorporated into ethics training in the state of Ohio. In my experience, each individual is unique, so I try to avoid stereotyping anyone based upon appearance or stated race or cultural background. I invite clients to educate me about themselves and I make it my intent to respect each individual’s cultural framework in the therapy process.
