Carol J. Lundemo MA, LMHC
Founder, Counseling for OCD and Anxiety Disorders, LLC
I have received additional training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Exposure Response Prevention, and have presented at workshops to educate both the public and professionals. I have attended the IOCDF conference, and you’ll frequently find me reading articles on symptoms and/or treatment for OCD, depression, or related anxiety disorders. Recently, I moved into my own private practice and founded Counseling for OCD and Anxiety Disorders. Currently, 95% of my clients suffer from this tormenting and often debilitating disorder. I have treated all types, including scrupulosity, harm, contamination, perfectionism, etc. I see all ages, including children as young as seven.
I have a MA degree in Counseling/Psychology from Northwest University, and am a Washington state Licensed Mental Health Counselor specializing in therapy for OCD. I have served as a volunteer facilitator for the Seattle OCD support group for over 11 years, and also run periodic support groups for my own clients. I work with family members to help educate them and support them as they learn to reduce accommodations and providing reassurance that have been enabling the sufferer. I believe in humor, and recognizing the silliness of OCD when appropriate. I also personally am recovered from severe OCD.
Diversity Statement:
My program during grad school had a special emphasis on courses dealing with social justice, cultural issues, and diversity.
