Chris Johnson LMSW, CAADC
I offer outpatient treatment for OCD by using Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). Office visits and trips into the community are both available to implement this type of therapy. I am also able to treat most co-occurring disorders (depression, addiction etc.) that may be present. Over 25% of my current caseload is OCD specific and I hope that number will increase!
Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders:
I take a holistic approach and incorporate foundational needs that are often overlooked. Sometimes the simplest solution may be most effective, while other situations may call for a deeper dive that will uncover a path to healing. I operate from a trauma-informed perspective and employ techniques from several evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, Seeking Safety, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and mindfulness-based approaches. I believe that positive reinforcement and compassion can lend a strong hand to the other therapeutic devices used.
I have completed two trainings on Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD. One of which was an intensive provided by OCD experts Dr. Steven Tsao, Dr. Christina DiChiara and Dr. David Yusko.
