Andrew Cohen M.S., LMFT
Psychotherapist
I own a group practice in Westlake Village and 100% of my caseload includes treating OCD and Related Disorders. I have worked with over 150 patients with OCD and Related Disorders. I currently offer outpatient-level of services and am able to go out into the community/home for exposure purposes. My practice consists of both in-person and telehealth appointments. Additionally, I offer training and consultation to treatment centers and clinicians on the treatment of OCD and Anxiety Disorders.
Depression and Anxiety
I have been working with OCD and Related Disorders for 5 years. I received my training in CBT; specifically, Exposure and Response Prevention, ACT, and Mindfulness, to treat OCD and Anxiety disorders at Renewed Freedom Center. Additionally, I serve on the Board of Directors for OCD SoCal, an affiliate of IOCDF, and completed Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) training in April of 2021. I have attended IOCDF’s BTTI training in general and pediatric OCD, advanced consult groups in Pediatric OCD, and 2 Annual IOCDF Conferences, and continue to meet biweekly with local OCD specialists for case consultation.
I am a Jewish American and due to my practice location, serve a large Jewish population.
In graduate school, I took a course on treating culturally diverse populations. As an MFT Trainee, I worked in our graduate school’s Community Counseling Center, which serves a diverse population by offering affordable counseling services. During my tenure at Renewed Freedom Center, training and treatment highly focused on serving culturally diverse populations, as my supervisor serves as Co-Chair of the IOCDF’s Diversity Advisory Council.
I have participated in the IOCDF BTTI Diversity Training Course
