Narrative of Services:

I am an OCD specialist with a secondary specialization in treating social anxiety disorder; about 60% or my current clients have OCD. I would estimate that I have treated 200 people with OCD and/or OC-related disorders over the years. I was named a Top Therapist for both OCD and Social Anxiety in Washingtonian Magazine’s first and only survey of DC-area therapists (2009).

Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders:

I treat the disorders that most commonly co-occur with OCD (depression, social anxiety, GAD, BDD). The approach depends on a thorough assessment of the impact of each disorder and the ways the disorders interact with one another.

Training Description:

I have specialized in treating OCD and OC Spectrum disorders since 2000. I worked as a staff psychologist for eight years at the Behavior Therapy Center of Greater Washington and received expert training from the BTC director and other excellent clinicians on staff. I have worked successfully with many sufferers of OCD (using ERP) and related disorders at the BTC, at a university counseling center (where I also supervised graduate students), and in my private practice. I have been an IOCDF member since 2004 and have gained considerably from attending IOCDF conferences and reading IOCDF publications.

Diversity Statement:

I welcome clients of all races, ethnicities, and sexual identities and orientations, and I strongly believe that I have been able to form warm, collaborative relationships with nearly all of my clients.

Like all psychologists, I have attended numerous continuing education seminars in cultural competency and working with diverse populations. As a former Internship Training Director at a major university, I was responsible for overseeing and maintaining diversity and cultural competence training for our interns according to the high standards of the American Psychological Association.
