Narrative of Services:

The Maryland Anxiety Center is dedicated to providing cognitive behavioral therapy for anxiety disorders, which include obsessive compulsive disorder and OC spectrum disorders such as compulsive hoarding, body dysmorphic disorder, hypochondriasis (and health-related anxiety), trichotillomania, skin picking and other habit disorders, Tourette syndrome and tic disorders. Services include individual therapy, intensive treatment, group therapy and professional development.

Training Description:

Andrea received an MS in Counseling and completed her post graduate work at Johns Hopkins University. She completed her psychotherapy internship at Key Point Health Services while treating severe and chronic mental health problems. Ms. Batton is a graduate of the Behavior Therapy Training Institute of the IOCDF. In addition, she completed over two years of advanced training as a post-graduate fellow at the nationally recognized Behavior Therapy Center of Greater Washington (BTC) where she specialized in the treatment of anxiety and OC spectrum disorders. At BTC, she provided individual, in vivo, group and intensive therapy for anxiety and compulsive hoarding while playing a key role in the expansion of the compulsive hoarding program. After working at BTC, Andrea worked for over four years as an associate clinician at CBT Solutions of Baltimore where she continued to specialize in the treatment of anxiety and OC spectrum disorders. Ms. Batton is currently the Director of and practicing clinician at The Maryland Anxiety Center and serves on the board of OCD MidAtlantic, an official affiliate of the IOCDF.
