Margaret Barry LCSW
The great majority of my practice is devoted to working with people of all ages living with OCD.
I see many client’s who struggle with depression, generalized anxiety, social anxiety disorder and trauma as well as OCD. I work with client’s to address these issues along side or if need be prior to treating their OCD.
Working with client’s struggling with OCD has become a passion of mine. I have attended conferences, trained with experts, and read countless books and studies in order to offer my client’s the most appropriate and effective treatment options. I currently participate in a bi monthly consultation group which allows me to gain diverse perspectives on the unique presentations of each client.
Throughout my thirty year career, I have worked in many settings, with clients of all ages and a wide range of ethnic and cultural backgrounds. I have always been sensitive to the fact that I cannot assume I understand another’s experiences. For this reason, I have an ongoing practice of taking trainings and courses that expand my understanding of diverse populations, including the LGBTQI Community. I also always invite my client’s to let me know if there are things they would like me to understand or know about them and their unique life experience.
