Many people I treat experience OCD [themes including existential, health, relationship, harm, sexuality (pedophilia, orientation, incest), contamination, scrupulosity, perfectionism and just right feelings] or anxiety [including generalized, phobias, panic, separation and social] commingled with other issues. I tailor treatment to meet the unique needs of each client. When indicated, I include evidence-based interventions for depression and other mood disorders, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), hoarding and body dysmorphic disorder (BDD). I also treat body-focused repetitive behaviors (including hair-pulling, skin-picking and nail-biting), substance use, self-injurious behavior and disordered eating. Additionally, I specialize in treating trauma, including complex, developmental trauma.
I am a licensed clinical social worker. In conjunction with private practice, I oversee partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs for individuals struggling with OCD- and anxiety- related disorders, ARFID and depression. As lead therapist at Rogers Behavioral Health in Los Angeles, I provide clinical direction to therapists that is informed by evidenced-based modalities including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Behavioral Activation (BA) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
I received my Bachelor of Arts from Goucher College in Towson, Maryland. I earned a Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California.
I recognize the dignity and worth of every person and approach others with the intention of honoring their beliefs, customs and values. I engage in an ongoing process of introspection and self-critique combined with a willingness to learn from others. I practice self-compassion and assume that others are also doing the best they can. I promote the socially responsible self-determination of clients and endeavor to advance social justice.
During graduate study, I participated in a global immersion program at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences in Mumbai, India where I contributed to the ongoing development of social entrepreneurship initiatives.
