Caryn Sherbet LMSW, LSW
Psychotherapist
Narrative of Services:
I’m a staff therapist at Triska Psychotherapy, which specializes in the treatment of OCD, hoarding, and other anxiety disorders. Using approaches that honor the mind-body connection—such as psychosomatic therapy, IFS, and ERP—I gently push clients to change unhelpful patterns and heal longstanding wounds. I use existential therapy to create a space in which clients can safely engage with the scary stuff without letting it overwhelm them.
Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders:
I often work with folks who concurrently experience OCD and depression, ADHD, generalized anxiety, existential anxiety, and/or trauma of all kinds.
Training Description:
I’m a graduate of the Columbia School of Social Work. My education and experience includes both didactic training and supervised work experience in exposure and response prevention (ERP), internal family systems (IFS), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) for OCD, hoarding, and other anxiety disorders.
Diversity Statement:
I’m a queer, trans nonbinary therapist who specializes in working with members of the LGBTQIA+ community who experience OCD and other anxiety disorders. I additionally specialize in working with sexual trauma survivors and take a radically sex-positive approach to mental health treatment. I’m knowledgeable about and affirming of folks who are part of kink, polyamory, and sex work communities.
