Sage Bates Ph.D.
Narrative of Services:
At Cognitive Behavioral Associates of Chicago, around 50-60% of the clients seen have OCD or anxiety-related disorders. I joined the practice in October of 2023 and am currently accepting clients. My primary focus is OCD-related and anxiety-related disorders.
Training Description:
I graduated with my PhD in Clinical Psychology from Illinois Institute of Technology in 2023. I began working with clients with OCD and related disorders (including hoarding) early on in my graduate training. I completed a practicum at University of Chicago’s Obsessive-Compulsive and Related Disorders Clinic, and later completed a one-year residency at Saint Louis Behavioral Medicine Institute’s Center for OCD and Anxiety-Related Disorders.
Diversity Statement:
I identify as a Black woman and enjoy working with people from a wide variety of backgrounds. I value diversity and strive to practice cultural humility in approaching therapy with clients I work with. Diversity and cultural trainings were woven throughout my graduate education and I continue to seek out trainings, readings, and learning opportunities to expand my cultural awareness.
