Narrative of Services:

Our team is comprised of a passionate group of psychologists dedicated to working with children, adolescents, young adults, and families. We have extensive clinical training and experience working with clients with OCD and related BFRBs, particularly Tourette syndrome, tics, trichotillomania, and skin picking. We utilize CBT-based evidence-based treatments, including exposure and responsive prevention and habit reversal training (CBIT), which are carefully tailored to each client’s needs.

Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders:

Individuals with OCD, BFRBs, and tics often experience struggles in multiple areas. When clients are seen by our team, we carefully assess for the range of disorders. We partner with you to prioritize which disorders are having the greatest impact on the client and their family, and develop our treatment plan accordingly.

Training Description:

My primary area of expertise is in working with youth and young adults with OCD, tics, trich, and related conditions. I have received training from leading experts in these areas (including a member of the IOCDF Scientific Advisory Board). I have served as a clinician in a pediatric OCD trial as well as an adolescent trichotillomania trial. In addition to my general CBT training in graduate school, I have completed year-long training at the Child/Adolescent OCD, Anxiety, Tics, and Trich Clinic at University of Pennsylvania and the Tourette Syndrome Program at Rutgers University where I was mentored by experts.

Diversity Statement:

Our practice respects and values individuals from diverse backgrounds and orientations. We prioritize learning about the needs of each of our clients so that we can ensure they feel comfortable and we can be knowledgeable about their needs. This is the foundation for effective clinical care.

My training to provide clinical care for individuals from diverse populations is based on a combination of formal didactic training and working in diverse settings. I have worked and received specialized training in public hospitals (e.g. Bellevue Hospital and St. Luke’s in NYC) as well as private psychiatry departments (e.g. NYU Child Study Center). Taken together, these experiences provided me with the tools necessary to work with individuals and families of varied backgrounds. Even with this training, I still value continuing to learn from individuals and families on a daily basis.
